Growing educators. Strengthening schools. Transforming the Mississippi Delta.
RISE advances solutions to the teacher shortage by supporting schools and educators through certification pathways, professional learning, and community partnerships.
Who We Are
We envision a Mississippi where education is equitable and effective for all children, regardless of economic status. Our mission is to conquer poverty by connecting communities in educational enhancement efforts.
About the Founder

Dr. Adrienne White Hudson is an educator, leader, and proud native of Coahoma County, Mississippi who founded RISE to confront some of the most urgent challenges facing schools across the Mississippi Delta. After nearly two decades working in education, Hudson witnessed firsthand the impact of teacher shortages, certification barriers, and limited access to highly qualified educators in high-poverty communities. Rather than accept these challenges as permanent realities, she was determined to help change the trajectory of education in the Delta. That determination led her to launch RISE—an organization committed to addressing the root causes that affect educational opportunity in the region.

Through RISE, Hudson works to strengthen local teacher pipelines, support aspiring educators through the certification process, and provide meaningful professional learning opportunities for teachers. At the same time, RISE engages families, community leaders, and local stakeholders in conversations about education, helping to reshape the narrative around schools and the potential of Delta communities.

Hudson’s commitment to this mission is deeply personal. A graduate of Coahoma County High School and longtime educator in the community that helped shape her, she believes strongly in the power and promise of the Mississippi Delta. Through RISE, she continues to champion solutions that support educators, engage communities, and ensure that every child in the region has access to opportunity, excellence, and a brighter future.
Our Impact
Turning Vision Into Action
At RISE, we are committed to transforming education across the Mississippi Delta by advancing equity, strengthening schools, and empowering teachers and students to thrive. We envision a Mississippi where every child, regardless of economic background, has access to an equitable and effective education. Our work is grounded in the belief that strong schools are the foundation of healthy, thriving communities, and that improving education is a critical step toward breaking cycles of poverty across the region.
A Mission That Moves Communities
RISE exists to help conquer poverty by connecting communities through educational enhancement efforts. This mission drives everything we do. We collaborate with schools, educators, families, and community partners to deliver practical support and long-term solutions where they are needed most. Our programs focus on strengthening educational systems, supporting teachers, and creating opportunities that lead to lasting student success.

Grassroots Impact in the Mississippi Delta
As a grassroots organization, RISE takes a hands-on approach to addressing the teacher shortage crisis in high-need Delta communities. We work directly with educators and schools to provide resources, mentorship, and professional support that help teachers remain in the classroom and succeed in their roles. By investing in educators and building strong community partnerships, RISE is helping create more stable schools and brighter futures for students throughout the Mississippi Delta.
